Prof.-Balzert-Preis für analog-digitale Ballettchoreografie 2024

(english below) Das Ballett Dortmund schreibt auf Initiative und Finanzierung der Prof. Balzert-Stiftung alle zwei Jahre einen Preis zur Förderung innovativer Stückkonzepte unter Anwendung digitaler Medien aus. Die Stiftung möchte gemeinsam mit dem Ballett Dortmund „Choreograf*innen sowie junge Tänzer*innen auszeichnen, die das klassische Ballett zu einem analog-digitalem Ballett weiterentwickeln, bei dem Ballett und digitale Projektionen verschmelzen und eine Symbiose bilden. Tänzer*innen verschmelzen mit digitalen Welten. Digitale Effekte verstärken die Wirkung der Tänzer*innen. Durch die Synchronisation analoger und digitaler Welt entstehen magische Illusionen.“

Der Wettbewerb richtet sich an Tänzer*innen sowie Tanzschaffende aus der ganzen Welt, die einen digitalen Ansatz in ihrer Konzeption gewählt haben.

Der Förderpreis ist mit 20.000 € dotiert. Der Förderpreis kann auch auf mehrere Projekte bzw. Künstler*innen aufgeteilt werden.

Der Förderpreis versteht sich als Festbetragsförderung oder alternativ als Stipendium. Hierüber entscheidet die Jury, zusammengesetzt aus Prof. Helmut Balzert (Stifter), Prof. Heide Balzert (Stifterin), Prof. Dr. Gerd Bollermann (1. Vorsitzender Ballettfreunde Dortmund e. V.), Dr. Michael Brenscheidt (Vorstand Ballettfreunde Dortmund e. V.), Julia Gaß (Kulturjournalistin), Xin Peng Wang (Intendant Ballett Dortmund), Tobias Ehinger (Geschäftsführender Direktor Theater Dortmund).

Mit dem Preis wird die Umsetzung des prämierten Konzeptes gefördert. Das entstandene Tanzstück wird im Rahmen eines Gastspieles innerhalb einer internationalen Ballettgala präsentiert.

Prof. Balzert Prize for analogue-digital ballet choreography 2024

On the initiative and funding of the Prof. Balzert Foundation, Ballett Dortmund awards a prize every two years to promote innovative piece concepts using digital media. Together with Ballett Dortmund, the foundation would like to „honour choreographers and young dancers who develop classical ballet into an analogue-digital ballet in which ballet and digital projections merge and form a symbiosis. Dancers merge with digital worlds. Digital effects enhance the effect of the dancers. The synchronisation of the analogue and digital worlds creates magical illusions.“

The competition is aimed at dancers and dance makers from all over the world who have chosen a digital approach in their conception.

The prize is endowed with €20,000. The award can also be split between several projects or artists.

The sponsorship award is intended as a fixed-amount grant or alternatively as a scholarship. The jury, consisting of Prof. Helmut Balzert (donor), Prof. Heide Balzert (donor), Prof. Dr Gerd Bollermann (1st Chairman of Ballettfreunde Dortmund e. V.), Dr Michael Brenscheidt (Chairman of Ballettfreunde Dortmund e. V.), Julia Gaß (cultural journalist), Xin Peng Wang (Artistic Director of Ballett Dortmund), Tobias Ehinger (Managing Director of Theater Dortmund), will decide on this.

The prize supports the realisation of the winning concept. The resulting dance piece will be presented as part of a guest performance at an international ballet gala.
